As I had noted in my post of April 2, I had submitted a missive to YVR via their Contact Us page regarding their arbitrary decision to discriminate against domestic passengers who use commercial shuttle services by forcing them to walk to and from the international terminal.
In the interim, I have been in E-mail contact with Park’N Fly, who had advised me that other clients had also complained to YVR. The “no news” is that no one from YVR has responded to me.
In the absence of any response from YVR, on April 5, I had posted a comment on their blog in response to a posting in which they patted themselves on the back for being voted #1 North American Airport by Skytrax. But you won’t see my post, because it’s still stuck in moderation – notwithstanding the fact that YVR blogger “Kelly” has posted three more entries: 2 on April 7, and 1 on April 8. Here’s a screen capture of my comment:
That’s the bad news! Now for the good news: Yesterday, I received an E-mail from the General Manager at Park’N Fly:
thanks to your efforts and those from others we will be moving back to the domestic area April 12, 2010
So, even if YVR lacks courtesy – or comment moderation skills – the reversal of this irrational, and discriminatory, policy shows that at least someone in that bureaucracy has a vestige of common sense!
UPDATE 9:46 p.m.: Better news (sort of). Not only has my above comment been released from moderation, but also at 3:40 p.m. another YVR blogger, Alysa, posted a reply to my comment … and at 3:47 p.m. “alisa” posted 2 comments in reply to my original post Interestingly, at 12:08 p.m., the post you are now reading had generated an unmoderated “trackback” to the YVR post (where my above comment had been sitting in moderation since April 5.) Coincidence? Perhaps.
