A simple perspective from Hans Rosling, a clear voice crying out to those who run the bureaucratic wilderness known as the European Union (EU) and its closely aligned step-sibling in multi-billion$ bureaucracy, the United Nations (UN).
In particular the arms, elbows, hands, fingers etc. known as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and those of the UN’s irrational and segregated refugee body known as United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) which the UN in its infinite wisdom subsequently decided to establish in December, 1949.
In case you were wondering, here’s a link to the UNHCR’s somewhat convoluted (of course!) rules ‘n regulations. Such designated refugees seem to have lots of rights, but few (if any) responsibilities. Oh, and here’s a link to its far more frequently flouted ‘n flaunted source of perpetual propaganda, the UNRWA.
Although the latter may well compete with yet another source of UN generated propaganda, i.e. the arms, elbows, hands, fingers etc. commonly known as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and, in particular, its favourite whines: climate change and (the still – conveniently!? – undefined) sustainable development.
